DROP ZONE CO-HOST, HAL SHAFFER, IS LIVING HIS DREAM

Tune into any episode of Drop Zone, one of the programs Streamlight sponsors on Outdoor Channel, and one thing is immediately evident: the hosts are having a great time. Greg Zipadelli and Hal Shaffer truly love what they do; and the audience can’t help sharing in the fun.

Drop Zone is entertaining – even for those who may not love hunting – simply because Greg and Hal are having such a great time. They travel the world enjoying the spectacular scenery as they hunt white tail deer, turkeys, bears, elk, antelope, moose, and more. The two hosts have very different personalities. Greg is strategic and methodical; Hal is a bit wild. Yet they’re the best of friends.

Shared Passions Led To A Strong Friendship
Greg and Hal are polar opposites in many ways. But they both love racing, hunting and the great outdoors.

Greg Zipadelli (“Zippy”) is a seasoned pro with considerable experience managing some of NASCAR®'s top teams and drivers. He’s the Competition Director for Stewart-Haas Racing, where he manages the racing operations of the #14 driven by Tony Stewart, the #39 driven by Ryan Newman, and the #10 driven by Danica Patrick.

The two met when Zippy was a guest on Hal’s hunting TV show. Hal worked on a NASCAR pit crew long before meeting Zippy; and when they teamed up for a hunt on Hal’s show, something clicked and a great friendship began.

A Natural Talent For TV
Hal Shaffer never expected to become a TV personality. Before he was on TV, he owned several car dealerships and he did the radio commercials himself. People noticed those commercials and the friendly guy who appeared in them. Soon other advertisers began asking the radio station if Hal would do their commercials. He was happy to do them.

Before long, the radio station asked him to do a talk show; and, of course, the topic would be hunting and the great outdoors – his favorite pastime.

Other radio stations began running Hal’s show; and that led to him being considered for a TV show. For his initial program, Hal and a friend rented a camera, stayed up all night learning how to use it, then shot a TV show the next day.

The TV network liked the show; and, more importantly, viewers enjoyed it and felt an immediate connection to the host. He had a natural talent for TV, his love for nature was contagious, and his popularity led to his current position as co-host of Drop Zone.

That passion for the outdoors, and the camaraderie between Greg and Hal make Drop Zone a very popular TV show … and a perfect place for Streamlight to promote our brand and sell our products.
