PLANT PERSONNEL ATTEND WORKSHOPS AND EARN CERTIFICATION FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Streamlight Plant Manager Bryan Troxel is a firm believer in the importance of continuous improvement. “Continuous improvement is a critical strategy for profitable, ongoing growth,” Bryan says. “There’s a company-wide belief at Streamlight that you never stop the quest for improvement.”

Among the efforts for continuous improvement for plant personnel are a number of courses and seminars, including a certification program in Lean Manufacturing. Given by DVIRC, an economic development business consulting firm in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Lean Manufacturing certification program teaches attendees how to identify and eliminate waste within their organization; how to determine areas that require improvement, and how to develop and implement an improvement plan; as well as how to effectively incorporate a variety of “lean” manufacturing tools and processes.

Streamlight sends its key plant personnel to attend these and other seminars on a continuous, rotating basis.
