YOUR NEW PROTAC® HL SHOWS STREAMLIGHT'S THINKING AHEAD OF THE CURVE.As a K-9 Officer, I continue to own numerous Streamlight products. I currently carry both the Stinger DS® LED and the Strion® side-by-side on my duty belt. In days gone by when deploying my K-9 Partner in a "bail out" setting, we would always reach for our large floor-mounted D-cell flashlight - all too often not having time to make the grab while in pursuit. Today, the large D-cell flashlight has been long since retired and the two aforementioned lights are always with me in every deployment, with the Stinger DS LED drawn numerous times daily. The strobe feature does not deter from the dog's focus whatsoever. Given the advent of the awaited ProTac® HL™, which will illuminate even the smallest of hidden marijuana seeds under any vehicle's seat, yet possesses a wider peripheral beam than the DS, I believe the Streamlight DS LED's focal beam will continue to assist in vehicle searches; and the new ProTac HL should be utilized when light is necessary in the pursuit of hidden bad guys. Congratulations Streamlight for providing us the exemplary ProTac HL. Stay Safe, |
THUMBS UP ON A GREAT PRODUCT THAT GOT US THROUGH A TROPICAL HURRICANE
I was on vacation in Puerto Morelos, Mexico last week when Hurricane Ernesto decided to show up. For some reason, I packed my Stylus® Pro in my suitcase. Lucky thing, because the resort I was staying in lost power and had no lights at all.
So after fumbling around in pitch black and 85 mph winds and rain, I retrieved my light and made my way towards my friends. I helped some people find their way out of a bathroom; and assisted several people wandering around like they were lost.
My Streamlight Stylus Pro lasted for several hours of use and still has the batteries in it from my trip. Lucky for me and my friends, we had the Stylus Pro to keep us safe. I will always keep this light with me.

MY VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES. I FOUND MY STINGER DS® LED IN A MOUND OF BURNT PLASTIC; BUT IT STILL WORKED!
I am an Assistant Fire Marshall with the City of Lubbock Fire Department. On April 5, 2012 I was rear-ended by a vehicle while stopped to assist a stranded motorist. The vehicle hit my pickup at 65+ mph and knocked it into the vehicles in front of me. My vehicle burst into flames and burned to the ground. I was lucky to survive. After I left the ER with 4 stitches in my lip, I went to see my vehicle. I pulled a lump of plastic from the floor board that used to be my dash. In that mound I found my Stinger flashlight. I pushed the button and it worked.
20 days later, one of my investigators and I were performing storm spotting when we
encountered a tornado. Softball size hail busted all the windows and we could not see the road. We pulled over to seek cover and got stuck in the ditch. I used the Stinger DS for light to hook up the chains to get out of the ditch. The lens was distorted from the fire, but it was plenty bright to get the job done.
I wanted you to know how I believe the Streamlight Flashlight performed well above my expectations in the real world.
