Attendees Couldn't Wait To Get Their Hands On This Incredible "Pocket-Size Floodlight"
There was a lot of emotion among attendees at SHOT Show this year. Excitement was high when they saw the new 600 lumen ProTac HL from Streamlight. A lot of them said it was unlike any flashlight they'd ever seen before.
So why all the commotion over a new flashlight? Well, the fact is, this is not just another new flashlight. At just 5.6 ounces with batteries, the ProTac HL has an incredible 600 lumens, and 16,000 candela peak beam intensity. As some attendees said, "it's like being able to carry a floodlight in your pocket."
The HL stands for High Lumens; and the combination of brightness, range, and width of the beam far surpasses what was previously available in such a small, compact flashlight. Designed for close-range applications, like clearing a room or lighting a path, the ProTac HL enables you to see not just what's in front of you, but what's all around you as well.
"In the past," according to Ray Sharrah, Streamlight President and CEO, "a police officer entering a room with a small, hand-held flashlight had to keep scanning the light from left to right just to make sure there were no hidden dangers; now the peripheral vision is greatly enhanced with the bright, wide beam of the ProTac HL."
It isn't just the added lumens that make this new light such a powerful ally. The combination of C4® LEDs and the way the company uses its reflectors creates an intensely bright, very wide beam. In the ProTac HL, that combination creates a bright beam with a reach of 253 meters.
The ProTac HL features high and low intensities, plus a strobe, in a user-programmable format. The innovative TEN-TAP™ Programming allows users to choose from three operating programs:
- High/Strobe/Low (the factory default program)
- High only
- Low/High
