"In over 15 years, I've dropped my SL-20X plenty of times,
but it's never let me down!"

"My Streamlight SL-20X has been working with me in a steel mill nearly every day for over 15 years. It's hard to imagine harsher conditions anywhere else. This light has been dropped off of 40' crane runways, into sluiceways and pits (to name a few things), seen extremes of hot and cold, and banged around every way imaginable. Although it looks a bit weathered, it still works like new."

"How is it possible that this light could still be shining after
being buried for probably a couple of years?"

A few weeks ago I was using my metal detector in my own yard and got a signal. I dug up a small flashlight. It was about 2" deep and caked with dirt. I couldn't tell what it was at first and placed it in my "finds" pouch. Later I was washing it off and noticed something white at the front as I was scrubbing off the dirt. THE LIGHT WAS ON! It was weak but really was on. I couldn't believe it and showed it to my wife. We got quite a chuckle out of that. How is it possible?? The flashlight is a Stylus® Streamlight®! The flashlight must have been lost by a construction worker within the past couple of years or so since we've had a lot of construction work at our place. It takes a while for things to sink 2" into the ground. My son thought I must have turned the light on while I was washing it but the switch was locked in place with mud and corrosion on the outside. In fact, I had to use two pairs of pliers to unscrew the end of the flashlight, which is also used as the switch. The flashlight itself is in pretty fair condition. The metal pocket clip is rusty and there is some corrosion outside and light corrosion inside near the cap but I think it may work well with new batteries after I clean it up a bit.

How is it possible that this light was on when it obviously had been buried for a period of time? In any case this incident speaks well of the Stylus flashlight as well as for the batteries.
