Streamlight® Employees Walk for COPS
As a long-time sponsor of Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), Streamlight supports many of the organization's programs, aimed at helping survivors of fallen officers, including "Hands-On" programs for children, spouses, and other loved ones, as well as special trauma training for police officers.
But the company's commitment to COPS goes beyond providing financial support. Dedicated Streamlight employees also volunteer their time to assist with special mentoring programs for children of survivors, National Police Week observances in Washington, D.C., and other activities. And, recently, Angel DelliGatti, Inside Sales Manager, and Clayton French, Director of Special Projects, also took part in the 5th Annual COPS Walk, which brings together survivors, friends and members of the law enforcement community who are willing to take on the challenge of walking 25 miles in two days to support COPS and its mission. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in pledges of financial support.
This year's journey took 92 walkers along the scenic C&O Canal Towpath from Virginia through Maryland and into West Virginia. Although the walkers encountered some rain, according to Angel, the mood was "upbeat and happy," with participants just "determined to walk," whatever the weather or other challenge.
"The entire event was amazing," said Angel, who raised $2,000 in pledges for COPS. "You participate with families whose lives were suddenly shattered when their loved ones were taken too soon while protecting others. We all walked side by side at times, or met up at mealtimes or sometimes stopped along the path to help each other out when our feet or bodies were aching. We did it together as a team -- age, physical shape, or background didn't matter. We were all there to support the survivors and the COPS organization that helps them rebuild their shattered lives."
Clayton, who walked for the second year in a row, also raised $2,000. "What particularly struck me was that a number of the walkers who were older or who had recently been through some serious medical procedures," he said. "Their attitude and determination could not have been stronger. They were a true inspiration."
All told, this year's COPS walkers raised an impressive $180,000.

Streamlight® Helps Play Santa to Deployed Soldiers
Streamlight recently heeded a call to help make the holidays a little brighter for Marines and Navy personnel serving in Afghanistan.
Mom 4R Marines, a non-profit organization which assembles and sends Christmas stockings to U.S. forces in the Middle East, recently asked the company for a donation of headlamps, which soldiers frequently use for reading at night. Matt Baker, Director of Sales – Military and Federal divisions, responded by organizing a donation of 2,000 Trident® headlamps.
But Streamlight's assistance didn’t stop there. Employees Angel DelliGatti and Terri Hall, along with Angel’s daughter, Felicia DelliGatti, were part of the volunteer team that assembled the stockings November 20-22 at a suburban Philadelphia school. Other gift items included candy, puzzle books, gun cleaning brushes, holsters, thank-you letters from local school children and many other items. A total of 4,000 stockings were assembled.
