EAGLEVILLE, PA — May 22, 2013 — Streamlight, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, announced that it has received orders for more than 105,000 Sidewinder Compact® II units from the U.S. Marine Corps. The ultra-compact tactical light provides four lighting modes and a strobe in a single light which can be attached to MOLLE gear, a belt, helmet or head strap.

The light can be operated from a single CR123 lithium, AA Alkaline or AA Lithium battery, giving users the flexibility to use the most readily available or preferred battery source.

"We're very pleased that the Marine Corps has qualified this light, and that it is being provided to personnel deploying overseas," said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. "The Sidewinder Compact II meets the Marine Corps' requirement to be able to operate in any global setting, and is yet another indication of Streamlight's rapidly expanding military and federal government sales program."

Designed in response to feedback from combat troops in the field, the Sidewinder Compact II has been engineered to meet a variety of hands-free lighting needs with various color LEDs that can be operated at varying outputs and run times. Featuring a 185-degree tilting body, the light can be rotated frontward to aid in navigation or backward for signaling purposes.
