Streamlight Takes LED Technology To A Whole New Level

Streamlight played a major role in adapting LED technology to portable lighting tools. Basic LEDs provide a number of significant advantages:

• LEDs run much longer before the batteries need to be changed — up to 336 hours!
• LEDs have an almost infinite life, more than 100,000 hours!
• LEDs are virtually unbreakable since there is no glass or filament.
• LEDs are available in colors that are specially designed for specific applications. The green LED, for example, is a favorite of outdoor enthusiasts because it doesn’t affect night vision, won’t spook wild game, and can be seen from far distances. The “cool” blue LED is a favorite among forensic investigators.

A downside to basic LED bulbs is that they’re not especially bright. But Streamlight has fixed that little problem.

Streamlight's C4 LED produces a brighter, more powerful, blinding light than any LED that’s come before. Our Streamlight-engineered reflector with C4 Photonic Crystal technology almost triples the brightness and creates an intense beam that pierces the darkness. So you get the long-run times and indestructibility of an LED with an increased level of brightness that leaves other LEDs in the dark.

We’re the only company to offer the most effective LED/incandescent hybrid combination on the market, our Twin-Task® line and it’s patented of course! You can choose between a high-power xenon bulb and a long-lasting LED with the flick of a switch.

Streamlight also blazed new trails in the size and shape of LED flashlights. First, we created the Stylus®, which features a powerful LED bulb in a lightweight penlight. Then we put a flexible cable on the “pen,” making the Stylus Reach®, a very handy tool for investigators, bomb technicians, firearms instructors, auto mechanics, and anyone who needs to snake a light into tight locations.
